Flourishing with God
in LIFE, LEARNING and LOVE.

Our Christian Vision

Welcome to our school

A warm welcome to Dulwich Village C of E Infant's School (DVIS)
from Helen Poyton, Headteacher.

At DVIS we provide a nurturing and happy learning environment for all children, to ensure they flourish with God in life, learning and love. This Christian vision is rooted in a number of bible passages but predominantly a verse from John 10:10b which says, "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly".

We want the children and adults at DVIS to experience that abundance of life through friendships and experiences, the highs and the lows. We provide a learning environment that is varied and rich, offering depth and breadth, ensuring the children flourish in their knowledge and skills, making progress in a multitude of ways. We want to show love, the love that God has for each person as a unique individual and the love that others have for them too. Most importantly we want all members of the DVIS community to develop a love for who they are which in turn leads to showing love to others, through their words and actions.

The DVIS team work hard to deliver this vision. We provide this by:

  • Ensuring we keep our vision of a flourishing community at the centre of our decision and plans.

  • Highlighting to each other when and where we see our school values of love, faithfulness, joy, kindness and self-control.

  • Developing learning and teaching that is based on expertise, research and thorough planning.

  • Weaving personal, social and emotional learning into all our work.

  • Holding high expectations and value for all members of the DVIS community.

  • Being inclusive and being solution focussed.

We hope that the information on this website acts as a window into this vision and look forward to welcoming you to one of our school visits soon so you can experience it all in person!
